Matchmaking Event (MME) was organised on the occasion of and held in parallel to the International Forum Promoting Cities and States in the Global Market on 15 November 2002 at the premises of the Reval Hotel Latvia Conference Centre.

To make participation in the Forum more efficient, the Forum participants were offered an opportunity to meet representatives of Latvian governmental, municipal institutions and other organisations, as well as the Forum's speakers and other participants in one-to-one meetings thus promoting themselves and discovering new partners.

Face-to-face meetings were scheduled based on partner preferences so no time was wasted with unwanted meetings. All together 14 meetings took place. The MME was organised by the PROJECT FORUM, a non-governmental organisation facilitating exchange of ideas and discussions on topical issues.
