General info
The 4th Congress of the Baltic Association of Surgeons was held in the city of Liepaja on 27 - 29 May 2004. The congress is normally organised once in three years. The first congress was organised in 1995 in Jurmala, Latvia, the second - in 1998 in Estonia, and the third in 2001 - in Lithuania.
The Congress gathered together 419 participants - 264 surgeons and 124 operation theatre nurses - from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Germany, Belorus and Russia. For the first time ever during the Congress a special session was held operation theatre nurses.
The 5th Congress of the Baltic Association of Surgeons will be held in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2007.
