In Oktober 1998, Mr. Tacke was appointed State Secretary in the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. He is in charge of economic policy, information society, telecommunication and technology issues. Since November 2000 he also serves als Representative of the Federal Chancellor for the World Economic Summit. Prior to this, Mr. Tacke held the position of State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Technology and Transport of Lower Saxony between 1991 and 1998. He has an economics degree from the University of Berlin and received his doctorate at the University of Oldenburg.
