Anne-L. Cobb is the first president of Visa CEMEA, having been appointed to the position on the region’s creation in May 1995. She heads a territory covering 92 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
She joined Visa in 1992 as executive vice president, Strategy, with responsibilities including business development, marketing and strategic planning across the former Visa Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
In June 1994, Cobb was also appointed general manager of the newly formed European Product Office. This office was set up to represent the European perspective in international product development and work with international staff to tailor products to meet the specific requirements of the European market. Prior to joining Visa, She was general manager of Eurocard International and E.P.S.S.
She began her career at Crédit Agricole in Paris where she was involved with the implementation of the first ATMs, the travellers cheque program and the launch of Eurocard. She was also responsible for the back office of the dealing room, international accounting and for corporate and correspondent banking for North America and Europe. After 12 years in Crédit Agricole she joined Eurocard, Brussels in 1983 as general manager.
MsMs She is a graduate in political science and economics and was educated in Paris. She spent one year in California studying econometrics.
