At the beginning of 1999, Dr Peter Radley became Chief Executive for Alcatel's businesses in the UK and Ireland and was appointed as Chairman in 2000. He officially joined the Alcatel organisation in October 1991 as Director, Research and Technology, Alcatel n.v. In 1992, he took up the position of President of Alcatel's Mobile Communications activities, followed by the appointment to Director Marketing and Business Development in 1997.
Dr Peter Radley has worked for the Alcatel group for over 35 years, initially for STL, the former research centre of STC, then for STC Telecommunications, in both technical and strategic roles.
Dr Peter Radley is a Cambridge University graduate, and also has a PhD in Computer Aided Design.
