Erik Luysterborg is currently working as a Director in the Tax & Legal Department of Deloitte & Touche, based in Brussels. He is in charge of the IT, E-Commerce and Electronic Financial Services Law Group (ITEC), which is made up of an international team of specialist lawyers. The group was created in response to the increasing growth of electronic forms of communication and trade. Erik also acts as the Deloitte & Touche European IP/E-business legal service line leader. In this capacity Erik has advised a wide range of international clients with regard to the legal and regulatory implications of their online activities. He is a frequent speaker on E-Commerce issues and lectures on the subject at the ICHEC (Haute Ecole de Commerce). Erik previously worked as in-house counsel for JP Morgan, where he gained significant experience in the areas of IT, banking and securities law. He was also responsible for installing and managing a compliance unit. A Belgian national, born in 1966, he graduated in law, as well as in applied economic sciences, at the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
