Academician of the International Telecommunications Academy (since 2000), author of over 90 scientific works and 5 inventions, Doctor of Science in Engineering (ScD Hab) and holder of a number of internationally-recognized university certificates, such as Columbia University’s (USA) Certificate “Columbia Senior Executive Program” (2000), Certificate in Market Economy Entrepreneurship of the York University (1993, Toronto, Canada); Professor of Riga Technical University, since 1993 occupies the position of the President of Lattelekom Ltd., but since mid-nineties - the one of a Board member with LMT, Norwegian-Latvian Entrepreneurship Development Fund, and Junior Achievement Latvia, as well as the position of the Latvian representative for the EUTELSAT Member-States Council. Mr. Strautmanis had accrued an extensive academic and hands-on experience as a lecturer of Moscow Institute of Electronics and RTU and as a senior manager of such an enterprises as the Latvian-Canadian joint venture “Formula” (CEO, 1992-1994) and the JSV “Alfa” (over a decade’s experience in the capacity of a Deputy Director-General and Head of Laboratory).
