Matti Lehti is President and CEO of TietoEnator Corporation. TietoEnator is a leading supplier of high value-added IT services in Europe with a staff of 10,000 and annual net sales of 1.1 billion euros. Matti Lehti served as President and CEO of Tieto Corporation, the predecessor of TietoEnator, from 1989. Matti Lehti moved into information technology services and building the information society from the commercial sector; he was Deputy Managing Director at Rautakirja Oy. Matti Lehti is Deputy Chairman of the Employers' Confederation of Service Industries and of the Foundation of the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. He is Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Economic Education and a Board member of Jaakko Pöyry Group. Since 1996 he has also been a member of the information society committee established by the Finnish Council of State, considering national policies for the information society. Matti Lehti obtained a doctorate in business studies from the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration; the subject for his doctoral thesis was "Growth Strategies for a Company". He focuses in his management on encouraging people to grow intellectually and develop their skills and expertise. His pastimes, apart from professional literature, include literature in general and various forms of physical exercise.
