Raimonds Pavulitis: We shall provide the participants of
the EBRD meeting with completely new and finely fit out cars.

The Meeting Participants Will Be Taken Around In The Most Democratic Cars

By Raimonds Pavulitis, Executive Director, SIA Motors Latvia

The company Volkswagen centrs Riga is operating in Riga since 1997, when it started its work as the dealer and importer of Volkswagen cars in Latvia. Within a short period of time a large motor centre was built offering modern facilities and full service, including sale and leasing of cars, and a diversity of car maintenance services.

We have achieved this over a short period of time providing the highest quality. I think that the key of the company’s success lays in the introduction of the modern technologies in our work along with mastering of the latest sales and marketing principles. In my opinion, these are the factors that have allowed us to win a leading position in the Latvian motor transport market. The main directions of our business are the sale, maintenance and guarantee service of Volkswagen cars, as well as supply of original spare parts. We service also Audi, Seat and Skoda cars, as they all fall into the Volkswagen concern. The demand on the part of clients is really high.

We felt that we are sufficiently interested and capable to support Birojs 2000 in the preparation of the EBRD Board of Governors’ meeting, sponsoring cars for the meeting participants. The previous meetings were serviced by such serious fleets as Mercedes, Audi and other. For a small company like we it was quite a challenge to provide 120 cars for a highest level event such as the EBRD meeting. We started to prepare for it as early as one year ago, when we reached an agreement with Volkswagen manufacturers who supported us with their price policy. As a result, all delegations of the attending countries will drive by Volkswagen brand cars. As to the special regular routes, they will also be serviced by Volkswagen minibuses.

I think, this is a challenge for the EBRD as well, because so far so high officials have never been taken around in Volkswagen cars, which is considered a democratic car. Volkswagen development has advanced far enough not to be regarded as a common class car, as it now more and more establishes itself among de luxe cars. Yet, it is a democratic car, good for both a minister and a housewife.

We value high the image of our car. If the participants and guests of the meeting are satisfied with the transport that we offer, we shall have reached our main goal – these cars will drive along the roads in Latvia and other countries.

I would like to wish the guests of the city to gain only positive experiences and spend time not only in work, but also in worthwhile entertainment. I would like that the impression gained about Latvia is good, because the most important thing is to show Latvia as real as it is. I am very delighted of our good co-operation with Birojs 2000, and I wish our company the same success in collaboration with other institutions involved in the organisation of the meeting.
