EBRD Officials Participate At The Supervisory Committee's Session
On September 1, 1999 a regular session of the Supervisory Committee for organising the EBRD Board of Governors' Meeting in Riga in 2000 was held. The session was attended by Antonio Maria Costa, EBRD Secretary General, Dr. Kari Nars, EBRD Executive Director representing Finland, Norway and Latvia, and Gilbert Sabathe, EBRD Assistant Secretary General. Addressing the session A.M.Costa extended his gratitude to all the participants of the meeting and Birojs 2000, the EBRD Annual Meeting co-ordination centre in Riga, for their co-operation and commitment in arranging this event. The participants took note of the information presented by Birojs 2000 about the possibilities of reconstructing the access road to the International Airport Riga as well as increasing the efficiency of passport control. At the conlusion of the session the participants approved of the stock company Hansabanka as an associated partner of the Baltic Business Summit.

EBRD Officials Meet Prime Minister Andris Skele
On September 31, Antonio Maria Costa, EBRD Secretary General, Nari Kars, EBRD Executive Director representing Finland, Norway and Latvia, and Gilbert Sabathe, EBRD Assistant Secretary General, had a meeting within the framework of their working visit to Riga with Andris Skele, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia. The preparation process and technicalities relating to the EBRD Annual Meeting were discussed. The officials also discussed the prospective benefits this large-scale event might bring for Latvia. The next visit of EBRD officials to Riga is scheduled to take place in December.

Alfa Centrs – The Successful Bidder of The Tender
The Commission of the tender, announced by Birojs 2000, the Coordination Centre for the organisation of the EBRD Annual Meeting, for the right to provide marketing communication services has assessed the bids received and has acknowledged SIA Media Agency “Alfa Centrs” to be the successful bidder. The bidder will develop audio-visual and visual advertisement, will conduct survey of mass media, purchase and placement of advertisement, as well as perform all the activities associated with the organisation and servicing of the marketing communication campaign for the EBRD Board of Governors' Meeting as well as render other services related to marketing communications, should such a need arise in the course of the EBRD Meeting.

Repeated Tender For Technological Provision Of The EBRD Meeting Announced
On 25 August Birojs 2000, the co-ordination centre for organising the EBRD Meeting in Riga, announced a repeat tender for the technological solution for the EBRD Board of Governors' Annual Meeting. The objective of the tender is to select competitive version of the technological solution for provision of temporary telecommunications and computer network, for instalment of PC and file servers, configuration and service during the EBRD Meeting, assigning its implementation to the bidder who has developed the selected solution. The tender regulations are available on the premises of Birojs 2000, telephone 7338029. Bids shall be submitted by 6 October.
