Employees Of BIROJS 2000 Equip Themselves With Knowledge And
Skills
In September Birojs 2000 staff attended the Practical
Project Management Courses at the Municipal and Project Management State Training Centre
of the University of Latvia (LU ), given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. oec. Zanete Ilmete, in order
to raise qualification and improve professional skills. After the development of a project
and its defence, the team received graduation certificates.
Contracts Closed On Renovation And Utilisation Of Premises
Owned By The University Of Latvia
On September 15 Birojs 2000 signed a contract with SIA Nord
on the execution of renovation works at the main building of the University of Latvia
located at 19 Raina blvd.. On the same day J.Zakis, Rector of the University of Latvia,
signed a contract on the procedure of utilisation of premises during the EBRD Board of
Governors’ Annual Meeting in May 2000. The premises of the University of Latvia are
scheduled for the Business Forum, which will take place during the meeting.
Visit By The Alternate Director Of The EBRD
On September 24, Rolf Næss, the EBRD Alternate Director representing
Finland, Norway and Latvia, visited Riga. During his stay in Riga, R.Næss visited the
venues of the EBRD Board of Governors’ Annual Meeting – Riga Congress Centre, the
University of Latvia, Riga Latvian Society House – all of which are under reconstruction
and renovation. Rolf Næss held meetings with Selga Laizane, Director of Birojs 2000
and Janis Naglis, Director General of the Latvian Privatisation Agency.
