On-line Registration for Baltic Sea Region e-Business Forum

Riga, 14 August 2001.

Since 14 August on-line registration for the Baltic Sea Region e-Business Forum is available on the Forum website http://www.birojs2000.lv. The on-line registration system is sponsored by Verdi, the Forum's technology sponsor.

The Baltic Sea Region e-Business will take place at Reval Hotel Latvia in Riga, Latvia, on 26 - 28 September 2001. The main objective of the Forum is to share experience on the development of an information society and a fertile environment for e-business in the Baltic region, thus creating the necessary pre-conditions for effective e-business, e-commerce, e-government and ICT development.

Despite summer holidays registration forms for the Forum have been received from all the countries of the Baltic Sea region as well as from Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. Active application for the Forum is expected in the end of August and beginning of September.

Apart from Prime Ministers and ministers of the Baltic Sea region countries we have already received more than 60 confirmations from such top level speakers as Erkki Liikanen, Member of the European Commission responsible for Enterprise and Information Society; Donald J.
